My Contribution

value-driven-Impacts-made-through-strategic-design-decisions-and-data-driven-designs

I've been an integral part of the entire TaskMe product journey, contributing actively from product idea to launch and beyond. Engaging in a dynamic spectrum, I traversed the product cycle, immersing in management meetings, brainstorming marathons, design intricacies, and developmental challenges. I've been there through every twist and turn, as we sculpted, refined, and sometimes reshaped the product to align perfectly with TaskMe's visionary solution.
Our path has been marked by countless iterations, spirited brainstorming sessions, and the strategic overcoming of obstacles. Together, we've distilled these collective efforts into what stands before you today – the MVP that embodies TaskMe's essence. Within this pivotal achievement lie multifaceted functions, each crafted with meticulous care to offer unparalleled comfort, safety, and reliability. Let's delve into a sneak peek of the crown jewels.

My design journey is like crafting a puzzle. I put together ideas, test them, and see what fits. Sometimes I need to change things, like rearranging puzzle pieces. I listen to what users want and use tools to build prototypes, like making models before building a real thing. I learn from users' thoughts and experiences, which helps me make the design better.

I work together with my teammates, like friends going on an adventure. Studying what users like and what works well. I also research about what users want and what's popular. I try different versions, like trying different recipes to cook the best meal. And I keep what works best, like keeping the best parts of a story. It's like creating a special place where you feel comfortable and happy.
At the center of my process is understanding users psychology and behavior, and building features that match users needs, all in all, its all about USERS

User Research - Research plan, surveys, interviews, analysis

Alright, let's dive into the fun part! I followed the research plan we made and did some cool stuff like figuring out what the problems were (problem statement), what we wanted to find out (research objectives), and asking questions in surveys and interviews. Oh, and those chats with potential users? They gave us really interesting info about who they are (user demography), what bugs them (pain points), what they want (their needs), and how they act (their behavior). My goal was to find out their troubles and figure out cool ways to fix them!

Okay, check this out! We had 32 survey superstars, and guess what? 20 of them (that's 62.5%, by the way) totally nailed the screener questions like champs! 🕶️ Then, 14 of these cool cats (that's 43.75%) said, "Sign me up for an interview!" But here's the twist – only 10 of them (that's 31.25%) were able to join the interview fun. And hey, these awesome folks came from all sorts of backgrounds and ages – a real mix of fantastic people! 🎉

User Research - Analytics

1. Audience Demography

Here's the scoop from our info hunt: About half the audience (47.78%) are guys, and just a bit more than half (52.22%) are ladies. And get this – most of the folks swinging by are in the awesome age groups of 25 to 34 years (29.28%) and 35 to 44 years (20.42%). That means loads of young peeps are really into this! A breakdown of the demography is giving below

  • Youths. Tech savvy. Working class
  • Stay at home folks: Tech bros & sis. Content creators. Gen Z
  • Directors: Executives, Managers, C-suites

2. Top Competitors

In July 2023, the top competitors for TaskMe were as follows:

  • TaskRabbit had 2.3 million visits, serving 1.1 million customers who spent an average of 4 minutes.
  • Airtasker.com had 1.8 million visits, catering to 1 million customers who spent an average of 7 minutes.
  • In online service marketplaces like TaskRabbit and AirTasker, the leading services include cleaning, furniture removals, and handyman/repairman services.

3. Top Services and Offers

In online service marketplaces like TaskRabbit and AirTasker, the leading services include cleaning, furniture removals, and handyman/repairman services.

  • TaskRabbit emphasizes reliable, high-quality services but with high commission fees.
  • On the other hand, Airtasker.com focuses on user flexibility and autonomy, allowing direct interaction with customers for task creation and communication. However, Airtasker faces issues like low pay rates for violations and insufficient work insurance for workers.

2. Define

Empathy mapping

We dive into users' shoes to know what they're thinking, feeling, and what bugs them. This helps us make designs that really click with them. The research stuff turned into cool data puzzles for our empathy maps and creative brainstorming. These maps showed me exactly how users see things and guided my design adventure. It's like matching my ideas with what users want. By getting into their shoes, I cooked up designs that rocked their world and made them smile. This whole user-centered vibe was a real star player in TaskMe project!

Prioritization Matrix

We threw a super fun online brainstorm party where everyone, from all corners of the team, came together to share their cool ideas. We gave these ideas a friendly competition, like a talent show, and ranked them like judges. And guess what? We used a magic idea-ranking tool called the idea prioritization matrix to help us pick the superstar ideas that deserved the spotlight!

Sketch and Wireframes

The Blueprint of Creativity: Just as an architect meticulously plans the foundation of a building, I approach design with the same level of meticulousness, starting with sketches and wireframes. These unsung heroes form the bedrock of my creative process, translating abstract concepts into tangible forms. Skipping this phase is like setting sail without a map – it risks losing the essence of the journey. Sketches and wireframes lay the groundwork for seamless collaboration, effective problem-solving, and a unified vision. They become the compass guiding me through the design landscape, fostering a symphony of aesthetics and user experience. By embracing these blueprints of creativity, I transform imagination into impactful reality, ensuring that each design resonates and engages with its audience.

Designs - High fidelity

Sketches became a fun adventure. Started with drafts, sought feedback from friends, users, improved with their insights. Redesigned for smooth user experience and style. Teamed with designers, brainstormed, got feedback, improved. Teamwork made designs shine, users happy! 🎨🚀

5. Testing

usability-testing-for-validation-of-design-innovations

Usability Testing

We didn't just stop after creating the app! We gave it a bunch of tests to make sure it was super cool! First, we showed simple versions and early sketches  to our friends and important peeps (stakeholders ). They told us if they liked how it worked (functionality) and what it did (interactivity). Then, when the app was almost ready to go out into the world, we let a special group (beta group) play with it for two months. They used it and told us what they liked and what they didn't. All this testing helped us make the app even better before showing it to everyone! 📱🔍🛠️

The Solution - What led to The MVP!

validated-user-centric-solution

The solution we came up with, based on lots of careful research and planning, did something really cool – it fixed the main problem. We designed it step by step, making sure it worked smoothly and made things better for users. User feedback was like a secret ingredient – we used it to make everything even more awesome. And guess what? Our solution didn't just solve the starting issues – it also made everything work even better and made users super happy. It's like our plan turned problems into fun adventures! 🚀😄

Lessons from the Project

lessons-learnt-all-through-the-course-of-the-project

1. Plan Ahead, Prioritize.

  • When launching something new, like a first version of a product, make a good plan. This helps avoid extra things that could slow the project down, and it ensures a good final product.

2. Get Feedback, Keep Improving.

  • It's better to get advice early, even if it's not all positive. Sharing with others and testing ideas, even with rough sketches, helps save time and make things better.

3.Keep It Simple. Plan Ahead, Prioritize.

  • As designers, we might love fancy and unique designs, but the important thing is understanding why we're doing it. We should focus on solving the user's problems with our designs.Get Feedback, Keep Improving It's better to get advice early, even if it's not all positive. Sharing with others and testing ideas, even with rough sketches, helps save time and make things better.
